Why we do this

An honest answer

We are Always Digital, the Auckland company trading as HornTech. Between client projects our team and our hybrid AI technology have capacity to spare, and we would rather build something useful for the community than let it sit idle.

Here is the trade, stated plainly. You get a complete website your charity might never budget for. We get finished work we can point to, and the word of mouth that follows. That is the whole arrangement: we will not call you with an upsell, we will not put our logo on your site without asking, and there are no strings attached.

The complete package, done properly

This is a full build, the same standard we hold for paying clients. Every charity website includes:

  • A five page website designed around your organisation, typically Home, About, Programmes, News and Contact
  • Professional copywriting for every page, AI assisted and reviewed by a human before anything goes live
  • Custom AI generated imagery that fits your story, alongside any photos you already have
  • A working contact form that sends enquiries straight to your inbox, with spam protection
  • SSL certificate and HTTPS from day one
  • Basic on-page SEO: sensible titles, meta descriptions and heading structure
  • Mobile responsive design that works on phones, tablets and desktops
  • Ongoing maintenance and updates, powered by our hybrid AI technology
  • First year of WebForger hosting free, then renewal at cost price

The fine print

What’s not included

Even a donation needs honest edges. Three things sit outside the programme:

Custom development

No bespoke functionality, member portals, booking systems or integrations. The build is template based.

Logo and brand design

You need an existing logo, or be happy with a simple text treatment of your charity’s name.

Paid advertising

Google Ads, Meta Ads and other paid campaigns are not part of the programme.

If you need any of these later, we are happy to quote for them like any other client. There is no obligation and there will be no sales pitch.

Who can apply

Registered NZ charity

You must have a registration number on the New Zealand Charities Register. We check every application against the register.

No current agency

You are not already working with another web or marketing agency on the same project.

Basics ready

You can supply your logo and the key facts about your organisation before we schedule the build. We handle the writing and the imagery from there.

One per organisation

Each organisation can receive one free website through this programme.

How it works

Four steps from application to launch

  1. Apply. Fill in the form below with your Charities Register number and a short note about your organisation.
  2. Review. We read every application and reply within five working days.
  3. Build. Once your slot comes up, the build takes two to three weeks.
  4. Launch. We put your site live, hand over the keys and walk you through the basics.

We take on two charities per month, filled in order of application. When the month’s slots are gone, the next ones open the following month. We also reserve the right to politely decline applications that are not a good fit.

Free Charity Website: Frequently Asked Questions

Is it really free?
Yes, completely. Design, build, copywriting, imagery, SSL, ongoing updates and your first year of WebForger hosting all cost you nothing. After the first year you can renew hosting at cost price or move the site to another provider. There is no contract and no obligation to ever spend money with us.
Why are you doing this?
Because we can, and because it helps us too. Our hybrid AI technology lets a small team produce complete websites at very low cost, and finished charity sites become work we can point to. Doing right by good people is worth more to us than the hours involved. We would rather tell you that plainly than pretend it is pure altruism.
How long does it take?
We reply to every application within five working days. Once your slot comes up, the build takes two to three weeks from the day we have your logo and key information. We take on two charities per month, so there may be a short wait for a slot.
What about hosting after year one?
Your first year on WebForger is free. After that you can renew at cost price, which covers hosting, SSL and platform updates, or transfer the site to another provider. We will never hold your website hostage.
Can we request design changes?
Within reason, yes. We design the site around your colours, logo and story, and we include one round of revisions before launch. Fully bespoke design and custom functionality sit outside the programme.
What if we are not selected?
We will tell you either way within five working days. If demand is high we keep a waiting list and offer slots in order, and you are welcome to apply again in a later month. If your organisation is not eligible we will say so and explain why.
