Google Ads · Lead quality signals

We tune Google's bidding in two directions at once: away from junk enquiries, and toward your most valuable customers.

Most Google Ads accounts feed the algorithm every form fill, spam and all. We do the opposite. We keep junk out of your conversion data and send back only the enquiries that matter, each valued by what it is worth to you. Google learns from cleaner signals, and bids toward more of your best customers.

A real example from our own account

On 20 July 2026, an enquiry landed in our own Google Ads account with a phone number typed into the name field. Left alone, Google would have counted it as a conversion and started bidding toward more submissions just like it. Our pipeline flagged it as spam and kept it out of the conversion data. That is exactly the kind of signal this system exists to catch.

This is not a one-off. In its first week live across the sites we run it on, more than 20 of over 120 enquiries came in as junk, roughly one in five: job applications, marketing pitches, and backlink sellers. Every one was held back, so none reached Google as a conversion.

One click in, two directions out

Every enquiry from your Google ads runs through the same route before anything reaches Google as a conversion.

How Google Ads lead quality routing works Every ad click reaches your website and passes a spam classifier, then splits two ways: junk enquiries are held back and never sent to Google, while qualified leads are uploaded to Google at their real value so Smart Bidding shifts toward your best customers. Spam never reaches Google as a conversion.

This is the negative half of the work, and it is the half most accounts skip. Every enquiry from your ads passes a spam classifier before anything is reported back to Google. Spam, supplier and agency pitches, and invalid or test submissions are held back. They are never uploaded as conversions.

Why it matters: Google's Smart Bidding chases whatever you tell it is a win. Feed it junk and it spends your budget finding more junk. By stopping spam leads from Google Ads at the source, we stop the algorithm from optimising toward the wrong people. Less wasted spend, cleaner data, better decisions.

Only verified, qualified enquiries go back to Google, each at its real value.

This is the positive half. Once an enquiry is verified as genuine, we upload it to Google as a conversion, matched to the original ad click and valued by what that enquiry is worth to you. A high-intent quote request is worth more than a low-value one, and Google is told the difference.

The uploads run once a day. Over time Google learns which clicks turn into qualified leads on Google Ads and shifts your budget toward more of them. This is value-based tuning: you are not just getting more conversions, you are getting more of your best customers.

It runs on the site we already built for you. You touch nothing.

The whole mechanism is server-side and already in place on your HornTech site. There is no tag to install, no code to paste, and nothing for you to maintain.

Zero setup

Nothing to configure on your side. The tracking and the conversion uploads are wired in when we build and host the site.

90-day memory

When a visitor arrives from a Google ad, the site quietly remembers that click for 90 days, so a lead that converts weeks later is still matched to the ad that earned it.

Fully managed

Spam classification, verification and daily uploads run for you. No dashboards to babysit, no maintenance windows.

One honest limit

If an enquiry we already uploaded as qualified is later reclassified as spam, the conversion we already sent to Google is not clawed back. The reverse case, where something first held as spam turns out to be genuine, has a short window in which we can still send it. We would rather tell you this plainly than pretend the system is perfect.

First party lead data feeding Google Ads value based bidding

In June 2026 Google moved offline conversion import and Enhanced Conversions for Leads into Data Manager, making first-party signal quality the industry standard for lead-gen accounts. This page is simply us operating that standard on your behalf, every day.

Google Ads lead quality, answered

Does this change what I pay Google?

No. It changes what Google learns, not your billing. We are not touching your bids by hand. We are giving Smart Bidding cleaner, value-weighted conversion data so it spends the same budget on better clicks.

What counts as a qualified lead on Google Ads?

A genuine enquiry from a real prospective customer that passes our spam classification and verification. Spam, supplier and agency pitches, duplicates and invalid submissions do not count and are never uploaded as conversions.

How do you stop spam leads from Google Ads without blocking real customers?

The classifier is deliberately conservative and only withholds enquiries it is confident are junk. If something is held as spam and later turns out to be genuine, there is a short window in which we can still upload it as a conversion, so a real customer is not lost.

Do I need to install anything or manage it?

No. It is server-side and already running on the site we build and host for you. There is no tag to add, no code to paste, and nothing to maintain. Your only job is to keep handling the good enquiries that come through.
